Hey guys! Today was an awesome second day that I have spent in Florida! Today was kind of a chill day to kind of get used to the schedule. I woke up at about 9:15 and breakfast was being prepared in the mean time, I was playing in the game room. When breakfast was ready, we all ate and I had bacon with sausage. So delicious! 🍳 After we finish eating, I started playing again. Mr. M. then came and said we were to late to go to the mall, so we had a study hall. I finished everything, so more time to play pool!
We then headed to Anway Center and got a full tour. We got so see almost everything. To the stadium, to where the Media people sit to watch. It was pretty cool and we got to see where we were gonna sit la

Hey guys! I'm back for the first new blog of my STN Trip! I still can't believe that this day came so quickly! Can't you? Well, I am currently in Florida right now righting my blog in my room in a house so let me get started on everything that happened to arrive here.
Well, my whole class met at the Lihue Airport at 6 P.M. We checked in and received two tickets. One from Lihue to Los Angeles and from Los Angeles to Orlando. Let me just tell you, the first plane ride from Lihu'e to Los Angeles was pretty rough. We left at about 8:30 and arrived at 1 A.M! Crazy right? Me, Micah Matsunaga, and Ben Brady all kept ourselves occupied by playing on our IPad, watching movies, and of course, taking short naps. That plane ride seem pretty quick. My second flight was a whole other story. We left at 8 A.M. In the morning western standard time and arrived at 3 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. That plane ride felt a lot longer and a lot more boring or maybe it was just me. But it was school seeing the landscape of all the other states outside the window and discovered many new things. Once we arrived, we got our baggage, got our van, (Mine is a Chrystler Town and Country) and checked into our hotels. After that, everything went by smoothly. I ate dinner at the Golden Corral and it was delicious! We just went to Super Target to get breakfast for tomorrow and for other things as well. But, this is the end of the update of my first day in Florida. Currently, it is 11:53 so I really should get to bed now. See you at tomorrow's update of my second day! Good night! 💤 Hey guys! I am currently 6 days away from going to Florida! I am more excited then ever about the trip! I mean come on, who wouldn't be excited about going to Florida and doing a bunch of awesome things! I have finished all the projects so now it is just to wait! this trip came around the corner so quickly this school year!
For this blog, I will be telling you about the top 3 things that I am looking forward to about going to Florida! Ok, the number one thing I am looking forward to is playing Lazer Tag with Casteic Middle School! I am really looking forward to playing lazer tag, especially because I never tried it before but I think I know how to play. Playing in a dark room and and having guns with lazers and shooting at opponents is like the definition of fun in my opinion. Although I haven't tried it, I do play a lot of Call of Duty and play online and use guns with red lazer sight. Doesn't that count? The second thing that I look forward to is going to the Orlando Magics game! They will be playing against the Washington Wizards which is also another good team! I love to play and watch basketball so this is another thing that I have in common with this event. It is very exciting to be in a stadium watching a bunch of pro players playing against each other and scoring many points! Not mentioning watching everything they do and use tricks to get around other players could make me a better player when I am playing basketball. I would also love getting an autograph from one of the players on those two teams! Especially John Wall, the Point Guard for the Washington Wizards! Finally, the third thing that I am looking forward to in Florida is, *Drumroll* I WILL BE SPENDING MY BIRTHDAY IN FLORIDA! Going to Florida will be like the best birthday present ever! My birthday is on the 22nd which is also the day that I will be doing my PSA so maybe I will get good luck and finish our PSA on time and rank! That could mean we would take home an award! However, this is going to be the first time that I will be spending my birthday without my family, besides my dad. But when I get back to Kauai! I will be so happy to see them and we will treat a day as if it was really my birthday. So, these are the three things I look forward to when I go to Florida for the STN Convention. Lazer Tag, the Orlando Magics vs. Washington Wizards game, and my birthday. Hopefully I really do enjoy all these events when I go up to Florida! But, this is the end of my blog and I will see you when I post my next blog. See you later! Hello once again blog readers! This past Monday, we could had our 4th and last STN Practice. We did it at the Marriott and our topic was all about Anti-Littering. It was pretty good, and we all communicated pretty well. However, we had ran into a couple of difficulties but everything worked out. Let me tell you about everything.
First of all, we discussed what we were gonna do. We talked for about 30 minutes and started right away. Our main idea was I was leaving a trail of snack rubbish behind me and Kaycee stops me from littering and makes me throw it all away. However, if we went along with that idea, I would have to carry all the snacks along with me and it would be hard. It would be continuity if I didn't carry them all so we had to think of a brand new ideas. So we thought of the brand new idea. It was that Kaycee was drawing a bunch of pictures and she didn't like them so she through it behind her and on the ground. I stopped it after a while and made her pick it all up. We filmed when we had about two hours left, yet finished all the shots with 5 minutes to spare. We finished and the editors decided to edit so me and Kaycee went home. I don't know how the editing process went, but we finished on time. When we reviewed our video in class. We got lots of positive critiques and only had a little bit to fix. However, our video was not special or memorable so we have to add something either funny or exciting. But, our practice went well and everything worked out. We know what to fix to make our video better. This is the end of my blog sadly, but Hey Guys! I'm back and this past weekend I had my third STN Practice! Overall It went pretty well. Our topic was about spreading germs so let me tell you all about my experience with my STN Practice! First of all, we planned out our shot list which took us about 30 minutes and we got to have a good discussion about about who's doing everything so once we got all that done, we were right on it. We wanted to film in the break room, but we couldn't because the Commercial team got there first so we planned again. We decided to do our shots on tables in the back of the library and our message was Spreading Germs is as easy as playing video games so we had Isabel play Flappy Bird and we had her cough on her phone to put on germs and pass it down to people to show that we were spreading it. All of our shots went by smoothly but we still had trouble doing some shots because the break room was occupied but after we managed to record our shots, we did our voice overs and our editors started editing, This time, we (actors) had to leave when our production was over so we didn't stay in the break room and we went with our parents. However, we did view our films on this past Monday and our video was pretty good overall. We had good shots and all but we had some continuity issues and problems with our title message so we know what we can practice for the STN Practice that we're having tomorrow! So this is how my STN Practice went for my group and I say we did pretty good. I know that we can make it better though so I will try extra hard tomorrow to contribute as much as I can! But this is the end of my blog but stay tuned for my other blog I will be posting today! Bye! 😎 Hey guys, here is my second blog and this one is about the event that happens every four years which is the Winter Olympics! What is it you ask? Well, a bunch of amateurs compete in certain events and score points in and overall section for their team! The teams are divided in countries such as USA and Canada. A bunch of really good leaders and Olympians are people such as Shawn White, Ashley Wagner, and Sage Kotzenberg! It is rather exciting and you get to watch a bunch of impressive tricks! There's gold, silver, and bronze metals. At the end, there is a closing ceremony and the team that scored the most points overall and medals wins! You don't win cash, but you win the honor of being the winning team. So if you have time to watch TV, watch the Olympics if you get the chance. By the way, it takes place in Sochi, Russia! But, this is the end of this blog and I will see you next time!
Hey guys! I'm back again! This blog post will be a little different and unrelated to media. If you didn't see, it's about the hardest choices of my life. I think one of the hardest choices were choosing which sport to play. It was between baseball or golf. Yes, believe it or not, I play golf. (Not that it is a sport for old people👴) It took a while to decide which to choose so let me tell you how and what I decided.
First of all, let me tell you. When I was younger, I would go to golf with my dad all the time at the golf course and hit buckets of golfballs along with my sister and I had all the clubs and everything. I would go maybe 3 times a week for 2 hours. I loved it and wanted to never stop! However, later, I got a new system called a DS which you probably know what it is. My first game I got what a game called Power Pros all about baseball. It was cool and would also play that game a lot and enjoyed it! My favorite team was the Minnesota Twins at that time and the more I played it, the more I wanted to try the sport baseball! So, I signed up for baseball in 1st grade and was pretty good at that time! With the time of the schedule of baseball, I started to play golf less and less. I still got new clubs and went golfing every opportunity that I could but later on, when my schedule got busier and harder, I knew that I had to choose one sport or the other to make it easier on me. I thought about the decision for a really long time (as long as maybe a little more than a month) and was pretty sad that I had to choose one sport. On one hand, me and my dad would enjoy and play together until sun set and on the other hand, I had a game where I could play with and meet meet new friends so it was really tough. But when it was time, I chose baseball which sometimes I am really glad that I made that choice and sometimes, I regret it more than anything. But, today, I still play baseball in a division called bronco and met many new friends. I improved a lot since then and I'm very proud of myself for the way I play. Sadly, I don't play golf anymore but sometimes, I wish I do. But guys, I chose baseball overall and was one of the hardest decisions in my life. So, this is the end of my blogs so I shall see you next time. Hey guys! I'm back for another blog and if you didn't know, I just went through my second STN practice, and just to give you a recap, I am in the PSA group for the STN convention and my group mates are Isabel, Justice, and Kaycee. Our PSA practice topic was good to great so we did our topic on a running race in between me and Kaycee. I don't want to make you wait, so lets go!
First of all, good to great basically means that if you it an extra effort in to something that you already worked hard on, you can complete anything. So what we did was make me win the first race and Kaycee lose. But then, she tries a little bit harder and beats me in a race. It perfectly supports the topic and was well planned but we still need to make a couple of adjustments such as switching cameras and other things. Also, we had to redo a bunch of shots because there was strong wind and the audio would be horrible. We also had to make sure the sunlight stayed the same and didn't change. Also, our battery died for our camera and sennheisers and had to switch while we were doing shots. We reviewed our shots at the end and realized that we had to redo shots so we did them again and I am very glad we did. Finally, when me and Kaycee went into the break room to let Isabel and Justice edit, we were wondering how they were doing, we ate snacks and did other things. About 10 minutes before the deadline, Justice and Isabel came into the break room and told us that they were done editing and I was relieved about that. When we reviewed our video, everyone thought it was funny because Isa was being the odd person out and everyone enjoyed that. We got feedback so now we know how we can make our video better. So, this is the summary of what happened for my group on our 2nd STN practice and if in my opinion, I think I did pretty good. Well this is the end of my blog, but, I will see you at my second blog of this week! Bye! Hey guys! I am back for another blog! :) I will be talking to you guys about the latest movie that I watched recently and that was the winter movie Frozen. It was out for a couple weeks last year in December to a little into January. It was a really GREAT movie but I can't just tell you that, let me tell you why it was such great movie so lets go!
First of all, I liked it because it had a not good, but terrific storyline. There is three main characters and there names are Anna, Elsa, and Christoph. It starts off where as one of the sisters (Elsa) goes high up in the mountains and creates an Ice Kingdom to seal away her magical ice power that she has away from her sister and the kingdom to keep her safe. To where her other sister Anna meets a guy named Christoph to save her sister. The storyline is "Heartwarming" and is very powerful with a good point of view which has a good lesson. Secondly, the movie has a lot of different genres in it so it is a mixed-genre movie. It starts off as drama goes through a lot of different genres (action, tragedy, etc.) and ends as a romance genre. It excites the watcher by changing the genre which makes them gain interest which definitely makes the movie more interesting for the watcher which I really like. Lastly, there was a bunch of crazy cool shots such as when Anna and Christoph are walking up the mountain, the blizzard got harder so they show a shot of the sky with the snow falling harder. Genius, right? The movie also had good wide, close-up and over the shoulder shots which were well focused and was the right type of shot for that particular scene. So guys, those are my three reasons I like this Disney movie Frozen. Let me tell you again: Terrific Storyline, Genres, and Good Shots. So if you haven't watched this movie yet, I recommend that you should and I hope you enjoy it if you do! But, I really have nothing else to say so until next Hey guys! I'm back! If you didn't know from the title, we just had a STN Challenge practice yesterday and it was pretty good. I am part of the PSA team and my teammates are Justice, Isabel, and Kaycee. I'm not gonna make you wait so let's get right to it.
First of all, our practice topic was the golden rule which is treat people the way you want to be treated. We did our PSA on a boy which is a bully picking on a girl (Kaycee) with her friend and the nerds friend stands up for her. I was the only boy of course so I was the bully. We started after about half an hour and we got right to it. We used a Vexia, Sennheisers, tripod, and a bounce reflector to do all the shots. We did ok at first, but we ran into some trouble such as the lighting was too dark and our T2I wasn't working well so we recorded all of our shots again and thought more about the plan while filming. We got extra shots just in case we messed up and did voice overs and we headed into the library to start editing. We had to pick out music for the voice over which was pretty easy and then me and Kaycee were the two actors so we waited inside of the workroom and hoped that everything would go as planned. It was sort of boring in the workroom, but our main worry was to finish editing the video in time so we just waited and did other stuff. At about 50 minutes before the deadline, Justice and Isabel came into the workroom and told us that it was complete and I was relieved. We had extra time but they submitted the video so it was too late. We watched our video and got advice to make the video better and we learned what to do next time. But, everything worked out at the end and we got to watch a movie at the end so it went well. But I thought I did pretty good and I did my role. So yeah, I have nothing else to say so I will |
